A note attached to a saved tab

Notes let you attach a short description to a saved tab. Add one from the right-click menu, and it appears as [Note] when you hover over the tab. Writing down why you kept a page saves you from guessing later.

How to add a note

  1. Right-click a saved tab in the side panel.
  2. Choose the notes item (the one with the notepad icon), type your note and save it.
  3. Hover over the tab to see the note, shown as [Note] together with the URL.

In the dashboard, click Add a note… on a tab card to write one right there.

ℹ️ In version 2.8.66, the notes item in the right-click menu is still labelled in Japanese. It is translated in the next update.

Frequently asked questions

Q. Can I add a note to a saved tab?

Yes. Right-click a saved tab in the side panel and choose the notes item (notepad icon). The note appears as [Note] when you hover over the tab.

Q. Are notes saved in my bookmarks?

No — Chrome bookmarks have no field for notes, so they are kept by the extension. You can back them up with the Google Sheets export or a JSON export.
